Part ? of this enactment recognizes Canada's jurisdiction over its ocean areas through the declaration of an exclusive economic zone and a contiguous zone in accordance with the United Notions Convention on the Law of the Sea. It also incorporates provisions of the Canadian Laws Offshore Application Act and of the Territorial Sea and Fishing Zones Act.
Part ? provides for the development and implementation of a national Oceans Management Strategy based on the sustainable development and integrated management of oceans and coastal activities and resources.
Part ? provides for consolidation and clarification of federal responsibilities for managing Canada's oceans.
